Position Purpose: The Livestock Production Specialist – Beef position is responsible to sell feed and all related products in a consultative manner to improve Producer bottom line performance. The main focus will be working with beef producers on their cows diets, optimizing production efficiency and herd health. This is to be done in a manner that will grow the cooperative/dealer's market share and profitability, improve the cooperative/dealer's efficiency, help achieve the cooperative/dealer's mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Calling on Cattle Producers (primary focus being Feedyards) to evaluate existing feeding programs, and to recommend and assist them with their nutritional programs.
· Selling/consulting at the farm gate (up to 25 farm calls per week) with the end goal of selling Purina products and programs and growing sales and market share. This includes developing new prospects and making sales cold calls.
· Organizing and conducting effective educational meetings/events to enhance Purina's brand image, sell product and build store traffic with local co-op/dealer.
